Holster Skills and Drills
Prerequisite: An Illinois CCL Class, NRA Basic Pistol Class, or Permission of the instructor.
Details: You'll get tons of trigger time in our SIRT/BladeTech DryFire Zone. We start you off with our SIRT (Shot Indicating Resetting Trigger) laser pistols and BladeTech outside the waistband holsters. The student will also utilize the LASR (Laser Activated Shot Reporter) to evaluate speed and shot placement on single and multiple targets. We'll send you home with not only the skills needed to effectively use a holster, but also with safe holster and dry practice drills that you can do at home to maintain and enhance your self defense skills.
This 3-hour class will cover:
- Selecting the right holster
- Drawing from a holster
- Drawing from concealment
- Drawing from cover
- Turning and drawing
- Drawing from a seated position
- Drawing from a vehicle
- Efficient magazine changes
- Advanced marksmanship skills for self defense
Students will use our equipment in class. This is a dry-practice class. No firearms or ammunition is required. Purse and other bag type holsters are welcome if that's how you plan to carry. No student firearms will be allowed in class. No exceptions.
